ReConnect to the Wisdom of Your Body

SOMA YOGA & SOMA DIALOGUE

ReConnect to the Wisdom of Your Body

What is Soma Yoga?

Soma Yoga is a yogic practice rooted in the living body as felt experience, in the sensations.

Soma means body: your sensations, aliveness, rhythms, and internal signals. Soma also means the divine nectar of full presence.

Yoga aims to bring your multiple parts together into one integrated experience (union).

Our practice is anchored in the body. There is nothing to reach, not even to transform, but to listen, contemplate and include. You actively experience—rather than merely perform. Experiencing instead of forcing.

What is Soma Dialogue?

In our approach, we also include Soma Dialogue, which is communication with the body through bodily sensations and emotions.

We will use your personal questions as opportunities to investigate the sensory echo of our words within the body.

Through shared inquiry, guided reflection, questions and answers, and the supportive field of the group energy, you will experience our guidance in a way that feels both intimate and expansive.

Our 3 retreats together

Short presentation

You can live consciously or on autopilot. Often, “autopilot” runs on old beliefs and memories, and we push away what our body tries to tell us.

Control doesn’t create safety. Regulation does.

When you reconnect with your body, your nervous system can settle, and true safety becomes something you can feel & experience.

In these retreats, we use the three life forces (three gunas) to notice, in your body, where you resist life and how that resistance fuels suffering.

With practice and guidance, you’ll learn to soften, allow what is, and return to relaxation, vitality, and playfulness, from the inside out.

Detailed presentation

You have two ways of living: consciously or unconsciously.

Living unconsciously often means you run on automatic. You react based on undigested childhood memories, old beliefs, and opinions. And somewhere along the way, you learn to push away what your body is actually telling you (your feelings, sensations, and signals).

You may recognise this tendency in the harsh inner voice of “should” and “shouldn’t.” Self-judgments tend to show up most strongly when you’re not truly in contact with your physical body. Very often, it leads to burnout or deep depression, or both, or simply the impression that you are not living your life.

And here’s the turning point: your body is your compass. It’s your guide and your teacher.
Your mind‘s interpretation can become a trap, full of analysis, rationalisation, and attempts to control what you can’t control: life!

Control is not safety. Real safety is something you can feel and experience in your system: your nervous system settling, your breath softening, your attention coming home to your body. When you can connect with what’s happening inside and allow the change instead of freezing, something shifts: “I am safe within me. I am safe with me. I can rely on myself because I trust that I can meet reality.”

That kind of safety is rooted in two things: a deeper connection with your body and a regulated nervous system

So when anxiety, fear, panic, numbness (or similar experiences) appear, they are not the enemies. They’re telling us: “change focus.” Bring more presence into the body and less power to the head’s spiralling stories.

And here’s a key insight: suffering grows where you resist life. Pain often isn’t “life itself.” It’s frequently the result of the resistance we carry unconsciously in the body and nervous system (small contractions, holding patterns, and protective shutdowns that once helped, and now limit you).

Maybe you notice you become rigid when things get uncertain. Your mind calls it “just being responsible.” But in the body, you feel bracing (jaw tight, stomach held, breath shallow). That’s resistance showing up. When we learn to feel it clearly, we can soften the pattern and give ourselves a new option.

What we’ll do in the retreats

During these retreats, we’ll use the framework of the three life forces (the three gunas) to structure our exploration and practice. This will help you notice where you resist life in your body and create a sense of separation from others (mirroring the separation within).

We will practice yoga, dance, do somatic movements and engage in a deep dialogue with the body. You will have time to share and to ask questions.

As a result, you will:

·      relax your nervous system with simple practices,

·      embrace what is (without pushing it away unconsciously),

·      include the parts that feel guarded by identifying your protective mechanisms,

·      reconnect with joy, playfulness, and vitality,

·      and discover what it feels like to live more fully in your body, not away from it.

Presentation of each retreat

1. Retreat “I FEEL”

Springtime, life force: Raj Guna

April 3–4

(with Zoom dates before and after: March 30 & April 20)

Spring awakens what’s been dormant, like the seed that starts to sprout and come to the light. In this retreat, we’ll explore Raj Guna, the life force of activation, aliveness, and movement and learn to return to the deepest source of guidance: feeling life and bodily sensing.

Sometimes we don’t feel because our system is busy managing, explaining, or judging. The result is numbness, disconnection, or “being in our head.” In this retreat, we will practice returning to the body, so our nervous system can recognise safety again, and sensing can become available.

We work with:

·      the sound Har & the breath: reconnect to our navel (Hara), source of vitality and independence, centre of our being.

·      the creative impulse (Brahma): emptiness, void, and relaxation as a source of creativity.

·      the quality of energy called prana: the balance between elements to avoid depleting ourselves in action or staying lethargic.

·      a transformation that comes from safety: how change happens when sensations and emotions are allowed to move and not suppressed or over-mixed with explanations.

What you can expect to leave with:

·      a greater ability to notice what you feel in your body (before it becomes stress or confusion),

·      tools to regulate your nervous system through sound, sensation, and presence,

·      a felt sense of yourself, so you don’t have to “figure it out” from the outside,

·      a new lease of life to step into spring!

2. Retreat “I AM ALIGNED & I MANIFEST”

Summer time, life force: Sat Guna
June 5–6

(with Zoom dates before and after: June 1 & 22)

Summer is about expression and expansion. Sat Guna brings steadiness, clarity, and the ability to sustain effort without exhausting ourselves. There’s a common trap: when we attach to roles, outcomes, or identities, we lose our home (our body) and pressure becomes the engine rather than presence, overstimulating our nervous system.

In this retreat, we’ll explore how identification and attachment can quietly disconnect you from yourself, even when you’re “doing everything right.” Then we’ll practice staying connected to the body as you act and move through life. The balance between expansion and contraction, and how to surf with the polarities.

You’ll learn to sense:

Am I acting from alignment or from compulsion?

From trust or from fear of not being enough?

With nervous system regulation, you’ll be able to notice the shift early.

We work with:

·      Harey: experiencing steady support in life while embracing constant change

·      Balance (Vishnu): how to keep our core presence while life asks us to perform, be there for others, serve, …

·      The quality of energy called Samana: staying “home” while being 100% into life!

What you can expect to leave with:

·      a clearer relationship with your “doing”, so action supports you instead of draining you

·      practices to prevent over-identifying with what you’re trying to prove

·      nervous-system tools to stay steady while life moves

2. Retreat “I LEARN & INTEGRATE”

Autumn time, life force: Tama Guna
October 5–6

(with Zoom dates before and after: Oct 9 & 10)

Autumn is the season of turning inward. Tama Guna is often misunderstood; it’s not only “dark” or “heavy.” At its best, it’s the force of depth, detoxification, letting go, and wise learning from what’s real.

In this retreat, we work with how endings, fatigue, withdrawal, and confusion can become gateways when your body is supported to rest, digest, and integrate. When the nervous system is overwhelmed, we may cling, dissociate, or shut down. When it’s regulated, we can receive the lesson instead of repeating the pattern.

This retreat is about letting your inner world teach you through what you sense, what you resist, and what you’re ready to release.

We work with:

·      Hari: how release/ending becomes possible when you stop resisting rest

·      Experiencing a tuned rhythm: how “slowing down” can be an intelligent choice for your system

·      Shiva (Stop!): how you recover clarity, softness, and trust through rest and regulation

·      The quality of energy Apana: elimination energy, and when it is time to let go in your life!

What you can expect to leave with:

·      practices for nervous system reset through rest, surrender, and integration

·      support to process what isn’t clear yet—without forcing yourself to “fix it” immediately

·      deeper learning from your body: what patterns are asking to change and what is time to let go.
