Course description

This workshop aims to explore the connection between emotion and movement, engaging participants in an intense and creative experience, where dance emerges as a necessity rather than a technical form.

Through careful and precise work, the aim is to discover new individual potential and reawaken the participants’ curiosity, enabling them to feel, at every moment, how movement is connected to the emotion or memory that generated it.

How can we maintain the liveliness, spontaneity and, above all, the honesty of that first moment when a movement or a stage action is created?

Perhaps by perceiving dance as a sequence of dynamic events?

Or by focusing on what is alive, on the driving force, on the original emotion?

During the workshop, ideas and experiments will be suggested with the aim of heightening attention to detail, as if these were a map to follow in order to reach the heart of a motivated and authentic stage action.

Course language

Italian (if necessary, the teacher can also speak English, French and German)

Who is it for?

No previous experience in dance or theatre is strictly required, provided you have a good aptitude for physical work.

Clothing

Loose-fitting trousers, a T-shirt, a sweatshirt and non-slip socks

Required materials

A notebook, a song you know by heart and a poem you know by heart.

Important

The course forms part of an academic programme.

For those wishing to continue their studies, the course will be followed by an annual session and weekly and monthly dance-theatre classes with other teachers from the academy.

A certificate of attendance will be issued at the end of the workshop.
